Each Friday, Council’s Human Resources (HR) staff donate a gold coin in return for wearing jeans in the office for that day.
HR Manager, Stephen Crerar said his Section had been extremely active fundraising in the past supporting such causes as Cupcake Day, Jeans for Genes Day, the Tsunami Appeal and the Shoalhaven Women’s Refuge.
“By doing something a little different and wearing jeans to work on a Friday the Human Resources Department has been able to raise money for a number of significant causes,” said Mr Crerar.
“The Shoalhaven Hospital Children’s Ward provides such a fantastic service to the area’s sick and injured kids and the HR staff couldn’t think of a better service or organisation to donate the money too.
“While $120 is not a huge sum of money we hope it can make a small difference in the ward’s day to day activities.”
The Shoalhaven Hospital Children’s Ward will purchase craft materials with the donated funds.
